The UN Committee on the Rights of Disabled People has just reported on the situation in the UK. Click here to view.

The report includes specific reference to deep concern about the inadequate support for 'disabled refugees, asylum seekers and those in refugee-like situations'.

The UN recommends the UK 'ensure... migrants, asylum-seekers and those with disabilities in refugee-like situations are able to enjoy the right to live independently and be included in the community and the right to an adequate standard of living and social protection'

Instead, the reality could not be more different and the Rwanda policy takes us even further from justice and from the UN recommendation. More details here: Disability and Migration network condemns Rwanda Bill.
